Why I chose Computer Science

Tell us why you are pursuing your selected major. If you are undecided on a major tell us about the academic areas of interest to you. (250 words or less)

I am passionate computer geek and have been in the wreath of love with computers since a very tender age. I decided to make my career in computers when I was 12 years old. ABOVE ALL interest is the driving motive in my case. Computing has been integrated into every walk of life; be it science, engineering, health-care, business, social media, arts, humanities or sports. Personally I would want to pursue my hobbies and predilections along with my professional career without compromising on either. Challenging courses like CS will hone my problem solving skills, and improve my logic and creativity which will open gates to virtually any field that I may want to explore in the future. CS gives me the lucrative opportunity to both lead group expeditions and embark on individual errands. As I'll be studying on an educational loan, I would want a job that is highly paid and most sought after. Also I see the world being stained by the dark lords like Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter series written by J.K. Rowling. I would want to, as a part of social service, make a positive impact upon the society by protecting the digital networks (private and corporate) against malicious and unsolicited cyber-attacks. Secondly we are heading towards the development of artificial intelligence that is going to change the fate of humans for the good 'if' used legitimately. Using my knowledge of CS I am desperate to contribute my share of innovations in this unprecedented arena.
