Illinois Institute of Technology:- Extra-curricular Activities

Please briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences. (250 words or less)

A grammarian would point out that my tenses are particularly weak. I don't know whether to use was, is or both. Suffice it to say that football has been and will remain my passion.

From my second standard I've been utilizing every sports period at my school to play football. I am a mid-defender. I've participated in school level competitions. I have also played district level matches (Parth Dave) held at my hometown Rajkot, Gujarat and a state level match held at Surat, Gujarat. Playing football revitalizes me. I am filled with rigor and enthusiasm after I play football.

Noteworthy coaches during these many years have been Mr. Kalpesh Rathod and Mr. Viral Trivedi. They have not only helped me improve my technical skills but have also permeated my personal life.
Over the passage of years academics became more and more demanding. Also due to the awkward place of my residence, the travelling time to and from the football field became a royal pain in my neck. After the tiring practice and travelling I was hardly able to concentrate on my academics. I couldn't compromise on my academics owing to the fragile financial condition of my family. I saw my grades dwindling and thus stopped my regular football classes after my 7th grade. Again due to academic pressure I have not got a chance to play football in the entire 12th standard.

I hope to get back to the field during my college if possible.
